As all 3 of my regular readers know, I have been a Hillary Clinton supporter. I don't regret that at all....I still feel that she would make a very good President. And it's not that I have anything against Barack Obama....on the contrary: to see how he has energized our party and the US voting public is truly exciting.
However, there comes a time when it becomes obvious that your favored candidate is not going to win the nomination. Such is the case for poor Hillary. She fought hard, she was a tough opponent, and she didn't give in easily. But she is not the candidate who can get 75,000 people to come out and support her on a weekend afternoon, like Barack Obama did this weekend. And she is not the candidate the Democrats are turning to in hopes for meaningful change for our battered country.
The fat lady is warming up, and she's about to sing because Hillary's campaign is just about over.
Therefore, I'm proud to transfer all of my support to Barack Obama for President.

I'm really excited to see what this highly intelligent (won't that be refreshing after years of Dumbya!), unique man will do to fix all the things that Bush & Co. screwed up in our country. And actually, just the fact that Mr. Obama has energized the American voters, and made them care about this election and the future of our country, is a huge triumph alone. Not to mention the fact that all of the middle easterners who hate us will stop and scratch their heads, wondering what to think now that we've elected a President whose middle name is "Hussein." If the American public will get behind this man and support him, I believe we have a real chance to see cataclysmic change--for the BETTER--in this country.
So I've got my Obama buttons, my Obama bumper stickers, and my Obama "church fan." I plan to do whatever I can to support the nomination and election of Barack Obama for President this year.
I'm sure Hillary and Bill will survive. They always do. And for the other Hillary supporters out there who are thinking of voting for McCain....do yourselves a favor and think very hard about that. Think about the following.....is this what you want to cast your vote for??
--a man who represents a party that wants to end Social SecurityRemember, George Bush ran as a "uniter." I guess what he meant was that the whole world would be united against us.
--a man who represents a party that thinks it's just fine to pay women less than men for the same work
--a man who represents a party that thinks public schools should be closed, and all schools should be private ($$$$$$)
--a man who represents a party that believes in individual freedom....EXCEPT if you are experiencing an unwanted pregnancy, or have a same-sex partner
--a man who represents a party that thinks that only "successful" people deserve healthcare or health insurance
--a man who comes from a family of warmongers (at least 3 generations)
--a man who thinks our national parks should be opened up to mining
Elect Barack Obama for President in 20008.

That took courage and humility. Unite to beat McCain? Yes we can!
Thanks! The primary goal that all Democrats need to be focused on is preventing four more years of George Bush.
I too would have been just as happy with Hillary on the ticket as I am with Barack. It seemed we had so many excellant candidates on our side this yeaar, balanced against not one (well, maybe Ron Paul!) worth a darn on the rebuplican side. As a matter of fact, those "who do you line up with" internet polls I took kept matching my views with Kucinich. I'm extremely happy to have Mr. Obama as my next President, and will do everything I can to ensure we end this anti-constitution, anti-American monarchy that the executive branch has become. I'd love to see the cabinet filled with our primary candidates - Dodd, Kucinich, Clinton, Edwards, etc.
I agree with you Todd--I would have been very pleased to have Hillary Clinton as nominee--heck, as a true Yellow Dog Democrat, I am pleased with any good Dem candidate that will be able to beat John McSame in November. It's looking like Barack Obama is getting ready to do just that.
Let's start with winning in 2008, then we can look at 20008 a bit later... ;-)
Well my goodness. You have an eagle-eye, Ulf; you're the first to catch that goof.
I'm um, thinking ahead??
